This is NOT acceptable "training" for just anyone and should be reserved for emergency situations only. There are far too many mental and physical dangers to the horse and handler if not executed properly.

I agree with you totally. MOST PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE TRAINING THEIR OWN HORSE -- PERIOD.

But, what I notice about Endospink is that either people love him or hate him right off. I like his cheeky irreverent manner. I think what he is doing is very interesting from an animal trainers perspective. Would I tell you to try it, NO!, but I would also love to see what he is doing in person and evaluate it from a more hands on perspective.

The test is whether or not you would send your own horse to a trainer. I would send one of my animals to him for sure, but not the other seven. I would not send that animal to a natural horsemanship trainer because it doesn't work with him (been there, done that!)

As a horsetrainer, you never have enough tools in your toolbox, and what Endospink says, explictly, is that his endo-tap is not a general use technique, but when you need it, it comes in really handy. Emergencies, hmmm, maybe.... but rogues and outlaws, yes for sure.

But then if you are of the mind that the horse can do no wrong, then this method would have no place in your repertoire.

Yrs,
Patricia
